Harbanse Singh Doman (August 18, 1932 – July 26, 2007), commonly known as Herb Doman, was a Canadian forester, forestry industrialist, and the Chairman of Doman Industries. ==Early years== Herb started working at age 12, after the death of his father, Doman Attar Singh Manhas. Poverty forced him to quit school and support the family. Initially it was by delivering newspapers and selling magazine subscriptions. Long before he was 16, he had graduated to driving a truck delivering sawdust. From trucking, Doman progressed to sawmilling when his customers wanted more wood than his suppliers could provide. "I built the company up for my father, for his family and for the family name," Doman says of his father. The senior Doman, had worked in the industry, logging the big timber of the Cowichan Valley and at one point (1905) leased a mill to cut timber for the Canadian Pacific Railway. In 1953, Herb along with his younger brothers, Ted Doman and Gordon Doman, founded ''Doman Lumber Company'', and 1955 incorporated as ''Doman's Lumber & Transport Ltd.''. Doman's first mill was the humble, Nanoose Forest Products. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Harbanse Singh Doman」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
